The PLUG BUG is a custom made device to interface between different kinds of sensors and various software that can read Serial data. This device enables unexperienced users to use multiple sensor types in a plug and play manner, no additional wiring or soldering needs to be done. The PLUG BUG was developed as a tool to be used in workshop situations to facilitate an easy approach to micro controllers.
My task was to design and develop a device that can be used in workshop or other teaching situations that enables a fast and easy approach to micro electronics. The specific combination of devices and an additional custom circuit board created a plug and play environment. The hardware was housed by a custom made acrylic glass cover. An Arduino code was delivered with the PLUG BUG that read all sensor values and sent them to the PC via Serial.
